The Covering of a Little Leader

In the recent elections in Kosovo, for the four main Albanian parties, 71,158 more people voted than 4 years ago. These votes, mostly went to the three opposition parties, where the largest increase was LDK by 60,372 votes.

But the opposition parties did not just get these 71 thousand new votes. They erode Kurt's Vetvendosje for even 41,548 votes from the historic 2021 result.

In all, the result of the three opposition parties was 37,300 more votes than Vetvendosje. ( PDK+ LADK+AAK has received 434,087 votes, while the VV has received 396,787). In the number of MPs, the opposition has received 52 mandates, the VV has received 48 mandates.

This is the rerun of the vote. But what's really going on?

Albin Kurti, chairman of the winning party that has secured 48 mandates, is also the mandate of forming the new government. He must find another 13 MPs, where he can, to get a vote of confidence. Ten of them are almost safe. It's the unstable minorities. That minority, although they do not have more than 20,000 votes in total, gets 10 deputies with the Constitution. Another 10 are of the Serb community.

It appeared early that Kurti achieved the majority through Fatmir Limaj's 3 votes, a coalition participant with Ramush Haradinaj in the AAK signal. But there seem to be difficulties in reality. And the difficulties are for those votes of the non-Serb community. The situation is blocked.
