In the absence of real results from the five-year rule, the VV is entering the election by attempting to adopt as success/represented as election promises and processes initiated much earlier by past governments, for which there is almost no direct merit.
Some of them are:
1. Free Customs Tax 10% for cars from EU
This is not the political decision of this government, but the prior obligation with the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (MSA), which envisions progressive decline and the abolition of customs tariffs for industrial products within the set deadline.
2. Removing employment restrictions for KLA veterans who receive insurance
This restriction has been illegal since the beginning. All cases sent to the courts have been won by veterans with even interest by forcing the state to correct the mistake.
3. “Budget record” for 2026
Each year, the budget is called <x0). The increase in the state budget has been gradual and ongoing over the years, not the result of any extraordinary reform.
4. Appropriation for visa liberalisation
All criteria for liberalisation have been fulfilled long before the VV came to power. The only VV policy in this process has been a delay of about 5 years, due to opposition to ratification of the demarcation agreement with Montenegro.
5. Increase in Army Investments
The transformation of KSF into Armed Forces has been passed by law in December 2018 and envisions increased investments as part of a 10-year plan (2018502028). So, current investments are the application of an inherited plan, not new initiative.
6. Low unemployment and “salders from Bangladesh”
The decline in the number of unemployed is not the result of sustainable employment policies, but the direct consequence of massive youth migration, mainly for economic reasons. Foreign workers are coming to cover gaps created from the run, not because Kosovo has created competitive economies.
The propaganda does not replace governance.
Without real results, the attempt to rewrite history becomes the only electoral strategy.
