It says: Africa Haliti
When you think of it a little longer, it seems almost surreal that in a country where corruption scandals are spread like after rain mushrooms, which in a society where public money and public money are not, it is amazing that crime makes no difference or is mentioned. Neither in political party programmes nor in debates during election campaigns nor even in public opinion research. Ask Kosovars what they are most concerned about, and you see that crime turns out or nothing on the list.
This silence is no coincidence. In criminology, when crime is not spoken of at all, it does not mean that society is calm and clean. When a problem is not discussed at all, it usually means something far more dangerous. It means that evil has normalized so much that humans no longer perceive it as a threat. Politics avoids this because it fits and because voters don't ask. Public opinion investigations on the other side do not reflect at all because the population has silently accepted it as good. And when crime is accepted as such, then there will be safe moral ruin.
This is exactly where Kosovo is today. We've come to a point where crime and wealth don't bother us at all because they're routine, and we can endure thinking that we can't improve it as long as we can improve bad weather.
We see crime in politics every day. We have ministers under investigation and criminal charges that come out in campaigns full of confidence. We have ministers with scandals that appear in public as if nothing had happened. We're even being released by an unprecedented “patriotism”. Integrity is no longer talked about in Kosovo. Because it's not important. Strangely enough, voters continue to re-election these people to any election.
The painful indicator of degradation also shows us through recreation.
Just watch Big Brother V IP Kosova. A contestant goes live on television on my range and quietly shows how he's dealt with the sale of drugs, how he's been arrested three times and spent years hiding from British police. No shade of guilt. No apology for the young men who took his arms and poisoned them with drugs. It seemed there was only one regret. They failed his criminal career. (In criminology there is often an interesting question about how serial killers are defined. How can someone be called a serial killer if caught after the first murder and there's no way to repeat the crime? This leads to the core dilemma: would that criminal cycle continue if it had not been caught? And the question basically affects the true nature of criminal motivation and inclination. )
And then what happens on this TV show? (Applause) Admiration. The atmosphere of the “type what an extraordinary experience of courage”. Other contestants embrace and praise him for courage and sincerity. Opinionists shake their heads as if he had just told an inspiring story and commended him for his courage. The designers smile and the program continues...
And you're thinking: Is that true? Are we really that low?
Not from the logical perspective, but the criminology, this is not just a television scene but a diagnosis of society.
When crime becomes fun, when criminals become influenced, when evil turns into character that deserves applause, then the moral boundaries of society are gone for wool.
Shame, that invisible force that somehow keeps societies healthy” has evaporated.
And when shame is gone, everything else collapses slowly.
Crime increases.
Accounting ceases to exist as a concept.
Institutions turn private path.
The political scene is filled with opportunists who know nobody punishes them.
The public numbs that sense of natural disgust with evil.
And slowly, generation after generation, the line between right and wrong fades until it disappears altogether.
E Kosovo is slipping towards that area...
A place where deviation is not condemned but is worshiped.
A place where criminal history drives you forward into a career.
A place where government thieves look normal.
A country where corruption is not scandal but gender behavior.
And that hurts to normal people because the consequences are seen everywhere.
Criminals are seen as strong “”.
The corrupt officials are justified as the master “because they are not letting others steal by stopping “tagine””.
Honest people look ridiculously naive.
While honesty seems disadvantageous, not worth it.
This is the most dangerous situation a society can achieve.
Because when people don't call crime crime anymore, these people don't even get the chance to fight it. Not even politically. Not cultural. Not emotionally. And then when resistance fails, criminality becomes a part of national identity.
Therefore, elections in Kosovo produce the same result and frustration.
It's not only true that parties are corrupt. The truth is, culture is numb and out of response.
No one demands integrity.
No one wants an account.
No one gets angry when public wealth is robbed.
As long as we have this level of political/Social issue, the ballot box will not punish thieves.
He'll repay you.
It will give them power.
It will give them legitimacy.
It will open up the ways of success.
Any society that erases crime on television and tolerates it in politics cannot make healthy decisions. Because he just can't. So we end up with governments that steal and misuse without punishment, cycle after cycle.
In the end, only a fool does not see it, but the problem is clear as tears to understand.
Kosovo is not suffering from the crime problem for that, but the normalisation of crime.
The outcome is bad but must be said plainly:
A society which erases criminals will always be governed by them.
