Pristina municipality alarmed about lack of cars, prime minister makes solutions for himself, rents 15 Sosh

The day that the contract of AQP has expired, The ZKM has awarded tenders worth nearly 100,000 euros for renting 15 cars. The company “Mercom US has been rewarded with this tender. P. K”, for the total value of 98 thousand and 820 euros, reports Express.

These cars have been rented for 12 months. The tender file notes that cars should be fully handed over 15 days from contract signing day and that all should be of the same type and color. The contract is scheduled to be signed tomorrow.

“During the length of the contract the contractor will provide vehicles to use without any restrictions for past miles during the entire period mentioned, thus unlimited miles during the lease period”, the file says.

The winning company must also conduct technical control, security, including KASKO within Kosovo's territory, registration and deployment of official billboards, conduct regular service according to the needs, supply and exchange of summer and winter tires, maintenance and repairs, and any other expenses during the contract period, and repair of injuries.

In case of a car crash, the company is forced to replace the vehicle no longer than two working days.

“If the vehicle is damaged and cannot be equipped for communication then it is replaced by contractors with the same type of vehicle and no older than the year of the damaged car.

The contractor can put a spare tire with a spare device and in case the car driver is damaged and the tire is changed and he's sending the car back to the contractor or contractor as soon as he can't put a spare tire on it and where he wants to hurt the driver's tyre to inform the contractor and the same one should send his team for the maximum 2 hours, this point is put in agreement between contractors and authority, and if they can't reach the solution that requires the authority, to the specified file.

Otherwise, Pristina Mayor Progress Rama called on the Kosovo government to find solutions for the work of cars.

Rama blamed the Ministry of Finance for leaving them without cars.

“The contract connected by the Central Procurement Authority (AQP), which operates under the Ministry of Finance, has expired on December 6th. This contract included central and local institutions, including the Pristina municipality, which had rented 76 cars. After the contract expired, all cars have returned, leaving the Pristina municipality without functional vehicles. This has significantly made it difficult to operate directors such as Inspection and Directorate for Security and Emergency”, Rama wrote.

Rama said the lack of operating tools poses danger to services and public security.

The “comuna urgently calls on the Kosovo government to find solutions, the responsibility of the AQP. Their inaction is severely hindering the functioning of public municipalities and institutions! The capital remains committed to meeting its obligations to citizens, but the lack of operating tools poses a danger to public services and security. Addressing public interest requires priority!”, Rama wrote.
