Vance says Iran has agreed to allow the return of nuclear inspectors to its territory

Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, has said Iran has agreed to allow the return of nuclear inspectors to its territory, while adding that discussions with the International Nuclear Energy Agency could take place <x0hic further than today”.
Vance said there has been great progress following the first round of talks between the United States and Iran for reaching a final agreement on ending the war, echoing a statement by mediators, television reports BBC.
He added that the negotiating teams had discussed reopening the Hormuz Strait and “the conflict for the regional ceasefire”.
The memorandum of understanding, signed last week, includes a pledge to reopen the Hormuz Strait and end fighting “on all fronts”, including Lebanon.
Speaking Monday morning in Switzerland, the US vice president said: “This is a major step for the American people and a first step towards the permanent conclusion of a nuclear weapons programme in Iran. ”
Iran has always declared that its nuclear programme is only for civilian purposes.
When asked by reporters when international nuclear inspectors are expected to return to Iran, Vance said he expects the process to begin “at least this week”, but talks with inspectors and the International Nuclear Energy Agency “could happen nothing further than today”.
