In the media communiqué, it is said the Steering Board has asked the general director of the SKKKU to make assessments of the situation and, given its competencies, to take legal action on responsible persons.
Other legal actions are also said to be taken in order to prevent such cases.
“Today, the SSKKUK Steering Board, at the request of Health Minister Dr. Arben Vitita has held extraordinary meetings where the only point of the agenda was the last event in the Psychiatry Clinic”, says the report.
After the discussions, the Steering Board has asked the general director of the SKKKUK, conforming responsibilities and legal authorisations to make assessment of the situation and based on its competencies to take legal action on responsible persons. Other legal actions will also be taken in order to prevent such cases”.
Otherwise, the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (QKUK) has confirmed that on Wednesday evening as a result of a fire in one of the clinic's clinic rooms, a patient has lost his life.
Kosovo's University Clinical Centre reports that around 11: 00 p.m. last night, in the Emergency and Psychiatric Intensive Department, a fire has occurred, in one of the closed-type rooms where patients are staying temporarily, patients in a state of aggressiveness and stressed psychomotor agitation, not a potential for mental state.
At the same time, Repart is suspected that a patient has set fire to a closed-room under unknown circumstances, decoupled as a result of the smoke (absucation) strain, he has lost his life despite maximum health staff efforts to save the patient”, the report says.
KKUK also added that during this time, another patient has suffered signs of smoke poisoning, and the entire nursing team, two doctors and two nurses who, while offering assistance to the patient in question and evacuation of other patients, have manifested signs of smoke poisoning and received medical assistance at the Emergency Clinic.
The case is being investigated by the relevant Kosovo Police Unit.
