Pristina citizens complain about the large number of mosquitoes, the municipality: European Problem

They even suspect that even in such cases the dezination has not been properly performed. Meanwhile, from the Pristina municipality deny this, saying mosquitoes are a European problem as a result of numerous atmospheric rainfall.

Health Director in the Pristina municipality Izet Sadiku claims to have completed the three phases of this process in the capital's neighbourhoods. The fourth phase, however, is set to begin today, on July 29th.

Citizen Venhar Isufi, who lives in the neighborhood “General Fista”, says the dezinection in this neighborhood has been done only once since the beginning of summer. He even suspects that the spray is made of water instead of insecticide.

Among other things, Isufi says that residents of the neighborhood where they live are facing great difficulties as a result of the great presence of mosquitoes.

“have said this is the fourth phase if I'm not mistaken, which is going to become dezinectation, but mosquitoes have only added. There is no such thing as extinction, and all the inhabitants of this neighborhood are having trouble with it, we're barely even making sleep comfortable.

I think the municipality has to reflect as soon as possible and their teams send them to our neighborhood. Let's not become neighborhood sharing, because we know there are problems in other areas in the capital, where there's not been a disinspectation as it has been predicted by the Pristina Community”, he adds.

As for those allegations, from the Pristina municipality say preparing a disinfectant is done before teams monitoring the process.

The Health Director in the Pristina municipality, Izet Zadiku, tells Kosovo that dezincing in different neighbourhoods is done in three phases.

The director of Health in Pristina also speaks of the purpose of disinfecting areas against mosquitoes and insects.

“Spatial Dezinectation is a process, which is done several years in Pristina, whose purpose is to reduce the number of mosquitoes and insects, which are carriers of many infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis, bleeding fever, disease...”, he said.
