France's President Emanuel Macron and German Chancellor Sholtz have today met Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, in an effort to forward the agenda of two authors of the “Ohrid Agreement” for the plan to escalate the conflict in northern Kosovo. The meeting with Mrs. Osmani is a bitter diplomatic signal for Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who has entered the spiral of international isolation after the case testified to Western allies in the conflict in the north and unconstrued acts with Western allies.

What is seen before the meeting is that Vjosa Osmani looks very happy to meet Europe's two most powerful people, while after the meeting she looks frustrated and her main effort is not to talk about the meeting.

The problem she has is that it feels complicated to publicise the messages of the meeting, which are the obligation that Kosovo has for escalation of conflict in the north. Will or will not, what she has heard at the meeting, will be Kosovo's duties in the coming months.

The only reason she can't get a public role in this story and can't talk is because she's afraid of Albin Kurt.

The bitter truth for Kosovo is that the Franco-German plan will be implemented with US support, but if the situation had gone smoothly, Kosovo would have been favoured as a trusted country, not to be under strong condition for the Serb minority in the status it will have for municipal association, and after that Kosovo will be more punished in that story.

Simply put, if she should behave normally and as a Western leader, Kosovo's leadership would have more easily signed its obligations, which now will be forced back to sign, but under heavier conditions and greater guarantees for Serbs who have won an important diplomatic battle in the West, thanks to Albin Kurti.

That's why Vjosa Osmani cannot say in public, what Western officials are saying and has to do with the escalation agenda.

Serbia will be forced to withdraw the army from the ridiculous alignment at Kosovo's borders, and allow municipal officials to return to work to serve citizens, while Kosovo will announce early local elections, leaving the north with special police units, so that everything can be completed and talks on the final agreement in Paris.

Vjosa Osmani has received this message clearly. So does Albin Kurti. The attempt of this latter to do as “strong” is understandable, as you are personally losing your battle with the West and trying to vent his grief.

But Vjosa Osmani is formally president of Kosovo and not chief protocol of Albin Kurti, and she must tell citizens the obligations Kosovo has as a pre-Western state to normalise the situation.

What they will do next is all a retreat from what Albin Kurti has done in two weeks, but a high-cost withdrawal, which Kosovo will pay.

Her lack of courage to say this clearly shows that she does not have the power to be a party to the West in these talks. But it's just worth it as Albin's secretary, to deliver the orders to “call down”.
