In Ukraine, homosexuality is not illegal, but same sex marriages are not known.
This has especially caused problems for LGBT people to appear in the military after the Russian invasion.
For example, according to Ukrainian law, if one partner dies of same - sex marriage, then the other partner is not allowed to return his body or bury the victim.

An LGBT organisation has described the petition as “a significant time” for community members.
