Russia has won 93 billion euros of fossil fuel transport over the first 100 days in its war in Ukraine, with its suffrage sent towards the European Union, according to a research released on Monday, writes NDTV, Pryskopi watches.
The report by Finland's Independent Centre for Energy and Clear Air Research (CREA) was released as Kiev calls for the West to discontinue all trades with Russia in hopes that the Kremlin's financial supply line will be halted.
Earlier this month, The EU agreed to halt most Russian oil imports, to which the continent is highly dependent. Even though the bloc aims to reduce gas purchase by two-thirds this year, an embargo is not in papers for the time being.
According to this report, The EU has claimed 61% of fuel exports during the first 100 days of the war, worth about 57 billion euros.
Top importers were China with 12.6 billion euros, Germany with 12.1 billion and Italy at 7.8 billion euros.
Several countries have increased shopping from Moscow, including China, India, the United Arab Emirates and France, the report said.
The US's EU has consistently imposed sanctions on Russia, aiming to stop revenues in order to end the war, but increasing the price of derivatives has led Russia to gain more, even though it has sold less.
