She made these comments after meeting with Peja Community Chairman Gazmend Muhharrier.
Osmani said that following yesterday's statement by the chief of the EU Office in Kosovo, Thomas Szuonyog that interethnic incidents have increased in the part of Vushtrri after the pandemic, he has sought information from security institutions, and their response has been that there is no such thing.
Kosovo State Chief Vjosa Osmani in her response to Kosovo Preress said no one should rush to make unconfirmed qualifications by security institutions as they damage the state's image.
After this statement by Szunyog I have again contacted our security institutions, which have actually confirmed that there is no increase in interethnic incidents, there has been the case in that region in 2020 which Kosovo Police have not qualified as an interethnic incident, because it has not dealt with the ethnicity of either victim or persons who have carried out the attack. These are information coming from Kosovo security institutions in the first place from people who are all day on the ground and who have the obligation and constitutional mandate to protect our citizens and deal with security. Their answer is that there is no increase in interethnic incidents. Of course, it's our commitment as central and local institutions to do our best to make the level of interethnic incidents fall to zero by 0.03 percent, which is due to the latest report of security institutions... It is important that no one be quick to make qualifications, which are not confirmed by security institutions, because it also harms the image of our state, but also damages our efforts for a Kosovo where all citizens feel equal, secure, and rightly realised as the Constitution envisions”, she said.
