The former head of the Presevo municipality, Shqirim Arifi, has spoken about whether you see the idea of exchanging territories between Kosovo and Serbia as the final solution between the two states.
Airiff has said Albanians of the Presevo Valley since 1992 through Referendum had clearly expressed their desire to join Kosovo.
“We have a 92nd referendum, where 99 % is voted to have a right to self-rule and a right to association with the Republic of Kosovo”, Arifi said.
He says such a referendum is unlikely to be cancelled and that every political party in the Valley acts on the basis of such a referendum.
Arifi further points out that it should only be consistent with such an issue, and adds that they understand that this does not happen without international support.
But it says that before the issue goes to internationals, political leaders in Kosovo should be asked if they want the Presevo Valley to join Kosovo.
When stressing this, Arifi adds that over the past 20 years, he has seen Kosovo's seriousness for such a desire expressed by Albanians from the Presevo Valley.
Before we go to the internationals, we need to ask masse Albin, Hashim, Kadrine, Ramush and others, for that. We can't achieve the end, there should be a will of welcome. And in this respect what I have been able to analyze, the last 20 years there has been a seriousness to our decision to attach to Kosovo”, Arifi said at ATV.
