Haradinaj calls on politicians: Make sure we spend our holidays in family tranquillity, not the barricades

AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj, via a Facebook text, calls for all politicians -- in Kosovo and Serbia -- everywhere as he writes, to influence Serbs in the north to remove barricades.

He writes:

We spend our holiday season in family quiet rather than in barricades

Local Serbs and their political leaders must understand that barricades are mostly causing harm to them. There is no other case on the European continent, (insisting Russian aggression in Ukraine), where people's movement is hampered except north of Kosovo.

Kosovo has acknowledged that Serbs are treated as equal citizens, and in many cases with even more advanced rights.

Central institutions have opened all the doors for the integration of Serbian citizens, guaranteeing security for them, taking on major financial obligations, guaranteeing their political representation even giving them the right to veto on many issues pertaining to their interests, that even by discriminating the majority population.

I don't believe there's another case where citizens of a state for more than 20 years don't pay the current spent, but this is what the state does in their name, as is the case of Kosovo.

Therefore, Serbs in the north have no reason to feel either endangered or untraceable, and much less need to block themselves and the north.

I invite Serbian political representatives, intellectuals and all reasonable people, wherever they are, in Kosovo or Serbia, to exercise all their influence to remove barricades.

I also appeal to all the friendly countries of Kosovo or Serbia, KFOR's NATO, to help remove the barricades as soon as possible, this recent mark in Europe.

We spend our last-year holidays as Europeans and civilizeds, in family tranquillity, not in barricades and hate each other.
