AV ONET finds the Peja Court's decision scandalous in the case of Agony Tetaj's murder

The court has ruled that Shaban Gogaj will be sentenced to 7 and a half years in prison for Tataj's murder.

AV ONET says it has followed with concern the way the criminal case has developed in the case of the Gogaj accused.

This case's “Recycling from severe murder to carelessness represents everything else, just not justice. In view of the published images of the critical day of the assassination, it is seen how the calm hand takes aim and now kills the late Tetaj, so AV ONET considers this process scandalous, unprofessional and unfair”, they say in their response.

Moreover, procrastinating this case, not having a one-year session creates judicial uncertainty for citizens of this country”.

So, AVONET wants the Court of Appeals to turn this case into a retrial, because “this verdict by the Constitutional Court in Pec is unfair, non-professive and unilateral”.

They also demand that the matter be delegated to another court because according to AV ONET retrials in the same court suspect it will not bring merit settlement.

“AVONET considers that such cases should be taken and treated more seriously because these cases cannot be changed into examples for citizens to develop a lack of trust in the organs of justice”.

Otherwise, the Peja Court's decision has been rejected by the Constitutional Prosecutor in Gjilan.

Through a communiqué, this prosecutor has announced that he will file complaints by failing to comply with the legal appointment of criminal acts “murder by default”.

Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has also deemed the Constitutional Court's decision to Saban Gogaj unfair and scandalous.
