Osmani: EU pressure Serbia to give up efforts to destabilise region

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani declared in New York today that the European Union should pressure Serbia to give up its efforts to destabilise the region. She made these comments during a meeting with Ireland's Foreign Minister Simon Coveney, where the foreign minister and [...] attended.

Osmani thanked the minister of Ireland for the continued support given to Kosovo.

Kosovo's “Success is the joint success of the people of Kosovo and our allies. Now we want to open a new chapter in our relationship”, Osmani said.

She stressed that she hopes that Ireland as a supporter of Kosovo's achievements will continue to be a supporter of Kosovo in international institutions, as well as assisting Kosovo in its Euro-Atlantic perspective.

Minister Coveney also announced the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. She stressed that Kosovo has consistently been a constructive party to this process, even giving many constructive proposals on various issues. It reiterated the requirement that dialogue must be concluded with mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia.
