Researchers have claimed that this was the first documented example of a deliberate hunt by this species.
The video taken in July 2020 showed the giant female turtle slowly chasing the bird.
The private island of Fregate is managed for ecotourism, and it is home to about 3 thousand giant turtles, reports Guardian.
Other turtles in the area have also been seen making similar attacks, but no turtle species has been seen actively hunting in the jungle.
