Kurti meets with Greek prime minister, urges Kosovo recognition

In this case Kurti has said that Kosovo wants to build on existing historical ties between the two peoples and raise reports with Greece as an important element for long-term regional stability.
“Greece and Kosovo must strengthen their independent relations due to long-standing common history, the common goal of peace and security in the Balkans, and the long-standing common future”, Prime Minister Kurti said, in announcement by the prime minister's office.
Kurti was thanked for support and for the constructive attitude towards our country, which Greece has particularly witnessed in these past months, with support given in favour of visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens and the commitment to Kosovo's membership in international organisations.
The announcement from this meeting reportedly called for Greece to join the bloc of countries that have recognised Kosovo.
Prime Minister Kurti announced his Greek counterpart on the achievements of new governance in Kosovo in these first 100 days, including good management of pandemic.
At this meeting, Prime Minister Mitsotakis reaffirmed Greece's commitment to further promoting and strengthening co-operation between the two countries within the framework of promoting the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
This meeting also discussed increased bilateral Kosovo-Greek economic relations.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is participating in the Round Table with Greece's Government in Athens this Thursday.
At this table, the 25th in a row, organised by the Government of Greece and the British prestigious “The Economist” are participating in prime ministers of various countries, government officials, decisionmakers, corporate and academic leaders.
