During his speech, MP Kamberi has mentioned changing Article 1 of Serbia's Constitution, which defines Serbia as state of the Serbian people.
According to him, this article should be changed overall, as it is problematic in terms of minorities.
He says minorities in Serbia make up more than 20 per cent of the population, and such a definition promotes confidence that members of other communities are <x0).
As an example, Kamberi has mentioned the Kosovo Constitution, whose Article 1 says that “Kosovo is a state of its citizens”.
Following these statements, the immediate reaction of the Serbian prime minister was B92, reports.
It's not fair that you refer to the Constitution of Kosovo as you are a member of the Parliament in which this territory is located, that's our province and you have to respect it. There are no Kosovo Constitutions for this house as independence won without asking anyone. Now it will show you more simply what the Constitution of Kosovo means to me. I'm from Karaburmi from a part of Belgrade, and one morning I could wake up and not ask anyone from this part I proclaim the Republic of Karaburm. One day later I signed and brought back the Karaburm Constitution. And this Constitution for this house of mine has the same validity as that of the Kosovo Constitution”, Bernabiq said.
She then cited several cases, which she said were committed against the innocent in Kosovo, including attacks on churches and monasteries.
Immediately, it has been the reaction of MP Kamberi, who told the Serbian prime minister she could even mention mass graveyards in central Serbia where Albanian remains have been found in the country like Petrovo Selo and Batajnica.
Regarding such statements, Brnabiq said cases are being investigated.
I feel sorry for all those killed, their families, all the missing ones we've been looking for today, but Serbia in its central territory has absolutely demanded all the cemetery we've got information about from Pristina, the Red Cross. This is an example of how it works and don't abuse it, and I can tell you that Pristina has done nothing” has declared it further.
