The Hague on November 5, 2021

The Special Court's detention building for Kosovo is behind an antinarcotics police hospital on the outskirts of The Hague, and for one year it has been populated with 7 Kosovo Albanians, for whom the greatest emergency has apparently been to close there.

A year ago as today, on November 5th, Hashim Thaci, former president of Kosovo and the man of the Kosovo war, closed there.

For nearly a year, they are still far from the time they can stand trial, as the judgment seems now to be no longer international concern. Even the file investigation no longer appears so. The emergency was apparently just their arrest.

Hashim Thaci appeared in the visitors' room untouched by one-year imprisonment, nor physical appearance, but not from update on what happened outside the prison. Clear about his intersection and the reasons he was locked up in that room, the man of the Kosovo war seemed at peace with all. But most of all by yourself.

He did not expect help from anyone except by the time the chief ally has remained.

The belief that he would prove innocent, and the conviction that this crusade on him and some of Kosovo's political figures, was the price they had to pay by the end of their lives for Kosovo, is the only one who gave them courage in those cells where they were closed.

Witnesses Against Thaci, Policemen Charged for War Crimes

When I think that and we might have been killed in war, I think everything else makes us stronger”, it says without much pathetic, in the close room of visitors where I try to humor me with good physical shape or his daily regime at the gym. Add here and the lack of mercy by Philip Caculi, who tells him to give up the demand for return to Kosovo, that he may be sentenced to house arrest and go mad.

In fact, it has no priority to return to Kosovo, even though the government there has convinced The Hague that Hashim controls everything in police and justice. The Priories have the trial, which it seems The Hague is not ready for.

He seems to have simply convinced himself that closing there is part of the balance of his life and has decided to take the last trial before justice.

It's a bit cynical, but for a year in the cell, the man of the Kosovo War has first learned the names of all Serbian police commanders in Kosovo, who will witness in court most of whom are people looking for crimes, or convicted as such. Some are even more prominent than others.

The commander of the Serbian Police in Prizren, the one in Mitrovica and Pristina, are among those responsible for terrible crimes on Albanians, such as the Krusha massacre, Likoshan, Mesja, etc. They are at the same time the people the prosecution has chosen to testify to Hashim Thaci. And that's a little sad about the seriousness of the Court.

Others are citizens of Serbia and some Albanians, some of whom live in Serbia. Thaci seems to have no concern for any of them, except for the awareness that they were chosen as people who could justify only his ban, but not his sentence.

The amount of file before his lawyers is unmanable. A former Kosovo diplomat in The Hague, relieved of duty by Albin Kurt, now works with Thaci's lawyer's group in private and shows that there are over 10,000 Facebook photocopies, thousands of newspaper writings found with “gogel search” and many interpretations about whether Thaci was a person with authority or an authoritarian man in the KLA.

The latter is also the point of the charge, since it is absent from the charge of personal acts. The charges surrounding him range that “ai is responsible as representative authority KLA”, not as a person who has any personal criminal act.

This fact, it seems, now a year later, has made it feel very calm and clear, “that it had to be arrested hastily a year ago”, turning it from the road to Washington, when prosecutors still have nothing to complete for it.

As a court established to balance The International Court's penalties on former Yugoslav war crimes officials, the Kosovo Special Court, established by Hashim Thaci himself, appeared to have hurried to eat up the head of its founder, just when he saw that it was too long when they could have a clear accusation and appear to have succeeded. Instead of the results of the investigation, they preferred preliminary arrests, calming all of Thaci's opponents within Kosovo, creating an empty area for them on this occasion.

Kosovo government, the only one that has burdened their positions in The Hague to date

Several days earlier, some Kosovo Justice Ministry officials had gone to The Hague, but Hashim Thaci did not receive them at the meeting. And he had an excuse for that. “They did not come to care about us, but wanted to use the meeting with me, at the peak of the election campaign in Kosovo. The Kosovo government didn't help us by bringing us coffee or asking us if it hurts heads here. We can make sure of these. They help us with public attitudes, but these very attitudes have affected us as much as they can. Besides the government of Albania, no one has helped us”.

The truth is that Albin Kurti is the only one who has burdened their position in the Court with two public acts. The first one, when it equated Serb crimes in Kosovo with those of the KLA and said that all those who committed war crimes, both Albanians and Serbs, should be condemned. The statement, much like the statements of human Rights activists, which Kurti has a strong heart, is made by a politician who has gone so far as to be a warmonger, a leader of the conflict, and has been the spokesman of a politician who has claimed that he does not repent and if hundreds of thousands of Albanians are killed in war. That said, once Thaci and other Kosovo politicians were taken to The Hague, looks like an official permit from the Kosovo government to punish them. Unfortunately, Kurti, neither the prosecutor in The Hague nor the Court here, is as partisan as he is about Thaci's sentence, and may be disappointed.

The second stance was the agreement on the exchange of KLA archives, equivalent to those of the Serbian Army in Kosovo. For the sake of truth, the only KLA archive is Albin Kurti's statements from Pristina until before shelling on behalf of U political representative The CK, Ademi Demac, has not yet resigned and political statements by the KLA, which are numberless and all published. The rest are songs of couples for those killed in war or massacres that have occurred.

Take it. The KLA seriously as a state-organised army with archives and military facilities, even after 20 years when it knows the truth, it's evil.

It was an institution of confidence for millions of Albanians frustrated by the Serb massacres, but not the military institution. The KLA was a war institution, but it has never been a professional army or hierarchy that can be equated with the army of a state like Serbia.

The KLA was an institution of confidence, born of the inter-communicable community's failure to take Kosovo seriously, after Dayton. It is an army designed not to let Albanians' dream of independence fail, which began as a peaceful path and was degrading under a massacre campaign from Serbia.

“Archives” The KLA is found in every statement of the Connecticut Group after 1997, in every international report on the 1998 offensive in Kosovo from March to November, and in every International Mission report in Kosovo that year. The only ones who haven't written their history on paper are those on the mountain or on the streets of Kosovo and Albania on behalf of the KLA.

And the bitter taste is that Albin Kurti knows this, but he thinks this way The Hague helps keep his political rivals away, who actually proved they beat him and without being in Kosovo.

And they have done so, not that they have been campaigning or given any orders, but that Albanians in Kosovo realized very soon that Albin Kurti, who won a match in an empty field, began to lie to Albanians with empty wire even after he came to power.

With two young boys in front of him, Memli Krasniqi and Lumir Abdixhik, he was suddenly left with no enemies and no motives for war and collapsed like nobody else in Albanian political history for 100 years, losing about 250 thousand votes for several months, what for Kosovo is like losing everything. Within a year, Kosovo did the trial to Albin, before The Hague did it to Hashim.
