The police action came after a video published on Facebook, where a group of young people were seen hailing serious calls to the Albanian community as the late Albanian “Albanian, good”.
The cheers had occurred as the road passed a column of Albanian weddings and cars, decorated with national flags.
The young people's calls had provoked weddings that stopped cars and headed towards the Macedonian group, but there was no physical impact since the group was dispersed.
“have been called into information conversation, conversations have developed. Concretically in the case of Saturday, 16 people have been detained and all measures are being taken in order to clear the case. The MPB will have zero tolerance for such actions, so it will be worked intensively until the same “is sanctioned, MPB spokeswoman Susan Prniq has declared.
Young people are believed to be fans of the football club “Vardi” known as “Comitts”
The same fans had marched Skopje Square for another week with such cheers until Skopje-Wardari was playing the game at the city stadium.
This act has prompted numerous reactions to social networks, requiring measures by institutions for preventing such actions.
The Comet's footsteps have their source in the system, which gives them power and support, no matter who's in power. As long as the system does not send these hooligans behind bars, phenomena like this will have to be stopped”, this is how Ziadin Sela from the Alliance for Albanians party has reacted.
Although with the Penal Code, hate speech is punishable by one to five years in prison, so far no one has been punished for hate speech which in northern Macedonia is present at all sporting manifestations, but also at party rallies and protests.
