Chev Charan and his wife Babita had to pay the bill of 35,000 rupees (350 R) after their youngest son was born from a cesarian operation at the Agra hospital. The couple did not have the money, and the hospital bought the child for 100,000 rupees.
Hospital manager Seeme Gupta said that the child was given up for adoption, claiming that the parents signed the agreement document.
The 36-year-old woman wants to regain her newborn son, but the hospital says the papers are now signed. The police will investigate this sale and then take appropriate action.
