Supposedly because of such a decision, Croatian tourism suffered losses in several tens of millions of euros, writes Poslovni dnevnik. For the tourism sector, this Dutch decision is discriminated against rather than transparent. Because of the foregoing, they are considering legal options for protection against such a decision from the Netherlands.
Croatian Eurodeputs are disappointed by the Croatian government's poor commitment to the issue. On July 21st, the Netherlands included Croatia on the list of countries at risk due to the coronary pandemic. By the time this happened, there were 25,000 Dutch tourists in Croatia.
After making that decision, half the number mentioned immediately stopped their vacations and returned home. Then followed an avalanche of summer holiday reservations in Croatia.
The fact that a tourist company from Istria lost 200,000 euros in just one afternoon speaks of volumes about the consequences for Croatian tourism. Currently, there are eight thousand Dutch in Croatia, which is considered a symbolic number.
Supporters of the indictments are thinking long - term and fear that such a decision can set a precedent for some future decisions that will, without any real reason, limit the travel of citizens within the European Union.
