Nezir Mehmetaj, from the town of Kline in Kosovo, had been with his mother at a hospital in the southern Serbian town of Nis.
When he was returning to Kosovo six months ago, he was arrested by Serbian police and kept in custody for war crimes.
Mehmetaj has declared that he was not a member of the KLA. While as part of the evidence the Serbian prosecution has presented photos claiming to be the suspects, the defence attorney says these photos are the current chairman of Obilic Giafer Gashi.
He says there's never been a case with less evidence and that the court has no evidence of this event.
“20 years no one has been heard and the war crimes prosecution has not taken any action, but have arrested the person. This lack of evidence is impossible. For five months the main testimony has been a photograph the prosecutor took from the internet and he says this is the accused”.
As his pictures roam through Serbian courts Dzafer Gashi continues his work in Obilic as head of this city.
He acknowledges that these photos are his and not Mehmetaj's who claims the Serbian prosecution and is continuing to be held in custody.
I have testified and testified that the photo I'm accused of has been cut off from a video footage we've had some media during wartime. I testify with full responsibility that the person they're accusing in Serbia is not, but is my photo”.
Gashi has served in Brigade 138 Agim Ramadani says he is not surprised by such factories that Serbia makes and that their claim with Mehmetaj is a good testimony.
