From the SIT organisation, Elza Islami has said of Kosova priss, that the influence of the pandemic is observed more on marginalised groups, while stressing that the number of cases reported for violence has been evidently higher during the pandemic.
“Pandemia Covid-19, has influenced any kind of community, but more has influenced marginalised groups where we see an increase in discrimination and inequality. There's been violence before the pandemic, but we've found that there were more reported cases during the pandemic. For the international day of the population, we have decided to show some of the statistics of violence in Kosovo that were reported by women and girls... There have been more reports in the Pristina municipality where the number is 239”, she said.
It has added that the purpose of this activity is awareness and prevention of violence.
The purpose of this activity is to prevent violence and anyone who is witness or victim to report violence. Violence can be reported in the number 080011112”, Islam has declared.
According to the SIT organisation, 239 cases of violence were reported during the pandemic in Pristina 80 in Prizren, 80 in Pec,48 south of Mitrovica, 21 north of Mitrovica, 65 in Gjilan, 58 in Ferizaj and 75 in Gjakova.
