The deal contributes to improved economic co-operation between the two countries, as it contains clear rules to avoid double taxation, which would result in fewer trade barriers for Dutch and Kosovo businesses and improve the business climate.
Minister Bajrami stressed that the Kosovo government is supporting immediate measures with stable policies that will help businesses during the phase of economic recovery.
While Ambassador Willems stressed that the Netherlands will continue to support Kosovo on its European integration path, in order to improve the welfare of Kosovo citizens.
The Dutch support for Kosovo has a focus on strengthening the rule of law, but also covers economic and trade co-operation, as more Dutch companies show interest in doing business with Kosovo. This agreement will promote our trade relations based on clear rules. This will become even more important during the post-COVID economic recovery, when a common approach and close co-operation between countries is required, not only in the Western Balkan region, but in Europe as a whole”, the Dutch diplomat said.
