American analyst Janusz Bugajski has commented on publication of the indictment's initiative against president of Kosovo Hashim Thaci and the leader of PDK, Kadri Wessel. He has written that alleged crimes of a small number of guerrillas during a war cannot match those of the Serbian state against all Albanian population Kosovo.
“context and figures are important. Otherwise, killing German SS, Nazi officials and their long associates The Second War The World would be seen equal to the slaughter of millions of innocent civilians by the Nazis”, he wrote.
According to Bugajski, Pristina should be steadfast that the Special Court is not investigating the KLA as a liberation movement, but individuals who are accused of specific war crimes. Moreover, government officials and analysts must speak openly about war crimes committed by Serbian military and police forces during the war and the lack of justice for the murder and disappearance of thousands of Kosovo Albanian civilians.
“Although a small part of top Serbian officials have been sentenced for war crimes by The Hague tribunal, a Chamber Special for Serbia, which would undertake deeper and more inclusive investigations is more than delayed”, he wrote further.
Bugajski has not been the only international analysts to have deemed the persecution of Albanians only by the Special Court unjust, not following Serb criminals, where in the last war they killed over 13 thousand Albanians, raped 20 thousand Albanian women and expelled over 800 Kosovars from their homes.
