It says: Ernest Feriz - Arcict
Open letter. Naim Ternava.
On a visit to Kosovo in 2013 Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan had said: “Turkey is Kosovo, and Kosovo is Turkey”.
One thing is very certain, Mr. Duration, that Mr. Erdogan cannot love Kosovo as he loves Turkey, as much as a stepmother can love a child more than a mother who gave birth to it.
On the contrary, Mr. Erdogan, out of Western apathy for the poor Balkan states, has led Turkey, which ruled Kosovo for about 500 years, to expand its religious and cultural influence in our country and to see Pristina and Kosovo again as part of the Turkish court.
Therefore, even the new mosque in Pristina, as Turkey's 40 million gift to the poorest Balkan state, which has not begun to build for years now, although the pebble has been set in 2012, with its Ottoman architecture against the international architectural competition, if it remains as such could be considered, a symbol of Turkey's dominant influence.
The location near the Grand Post in the capital, where construction of the Great Mosque facility was preceded, is irrational and has had to be thought of ever since, as it was now without the construction of such an object of monumentic character and high visit, in every respect is overloaded.
Besides the architectural solution, obviously the right solution to a more spaced location for believers, that world should be the main criterion for design and construction of Glass.
Central Mosque will be done and must be done, so Mr. President. Ternava, like the Mufti of Kosovo and the highest representative of Islamic faith, I as architect and all citizens of Pristina have a vital responsibility in terms of building the Great Mosque object, especially for generations to come after us. It depends on us whether, in the future, they will leave you as an inheritance: a <x0monment” identifying Pristina or a typical Ottoman building.
If none of the competition's collective projects, made specifically for Jamaica, have liked you or investors, at least try for the sake of cultural and religious heritage to make the necessary architectural modifications, knowing that even modification of the proposed Ottoman architecture is still an inadequate modification for our Albanian and new century.
As a citizen of Pristina, I felt myself obliged to my children and the descendants of the country to express their opinion about building the Great Mosque facility in Pristina.
Be assured that our descendants will leave you an inheritance, a typical Ottoman object.
If that was from the start and the goal, then okay.
