National Social Democrat Initiative Council Chairman Jakup Krasniqi has welcomed the US invitation to resume dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, but does not expect quick final agreements. In an interview for KosovoPress, the former head of the Kosovo Assembly, prior to the meeting in Washington, calls for unifying the political spectrum, as it considers that an agreement with Serbia is difficult without full consensus of all political parties in the country.

Krasniqi says that even though the agenda and topics discussed there are not known, Kosovo and Serbia without hesitation should respond to the US invitation and see what is being proposed.

We should say that it is good that the US is interested in finding a lasting solution to the reports between Kosovo and Serbia. This is a great good one, and of course Kosovo and Serbia are interested and should go to Washington, so that they can finally see what the demands are and what is approaching and what is being proposed there. We as the Kosovo side do not know what will be proposed there and it is premature to talk, but to say what we expect from these meetings. Throughout the past 20 years, I have been dealing with the Kosovo-Serbia reports, and especially after declaring independence and seeing the statements of Serbia's leaders, seeing the source of Serbian philosophy, which is primarily in Serbian mythology, which is even false, I do not expect any quick, much easier, and with desirable decomposition”, he says.

The Kosovo delegation is expected to consist of the country's President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti.

Krasniqi thinks talks with Serbia are the government's responsibility, as such a thing envisions the country's Constitution.

While the president's role, Krasniqi values more ceremonial and not decision-making, however, says his participation is not bad.

I think the executive issues are executive. Foreign representative policy is also more influential, but we really know that political talks started at the time when today's president was prime minister and the Constitution in that direction has not changed. So talks between Serbia and Kosovo should be conducted by the government, because it has capacities and professional capacities and has legal and constitutional responsibility. The president has a role. So homework is divided. The government conducts the talks, parliament by vote confirms or rejects such an agreement, and the president's role in Kosovo is more ceremonial, because it is not elected by the people. But in this case the president may be part of the delegation, because even in Vienna talks, the president has been part of the delegation. But the main role is the executive”, he says.

For other times when about Kosovo's dialogue with Serbia, the US and the EU were unanimously, a disrepute is seen this time.

And this report between Brussels and Washington, Krasniqi is a very disturbing assessment.

However, it says the most disturbing remains the failure of Kosovo's political spectrum to face dialogue with Serbia.

The former Speaker of the Parliament estimates that the PDK and the VV missed the meeting by Prime Minister Hoti.

The leaders of political parties have to put aside their resentment because they should eventually know that even if they come to power again, they have to create a national consensus. Perhaps the major parties had to set an example that at this moment really would create that national consensus even in the Kosovo assembly, because the agreements should be voted there. I am convinced that this situation is highly unfavourable for Kosovo, and I do not have the biggest problem with the Washington Brussels reports, but with reports that exist on the political scene in Kosovo”, he said.

National Council of Social Democrat Initiative Chairman Jakup Krasniqi has also commented on Albin Kurti's governance.

He says that setting red lines has created political instability.

While adding that coalition V The V-LDK was not natural, since the two political subjects that came first in the elections do not have the same position for the state.

“Seting red lines does not create political stability. After all, you have to make a choice that is not a solution. Many citizens thought the V coalition The V-LDK was a hope of a change, but within 50 days they were disappointed that there was no normal communication either between representatives of the coalition parties. And this is a little painful that it doesn't create political stability. In the Western world we have learned from and intend to go coalitions rarely take place between the first and second parties. But coalitions usually become over the positions political parties have for the state. It does not become the two political parties that are opposed to the state to become together. And we saw that when there is no common position for state institutions, even the coalition can become but is short-lived. And that was seen with LVV's coalition with LDK”, he says.

Krasniqi has also commented on the Constitutional Court's decision, which gave justice to President Thaci's decree that pave the way for the formation of the Hoti government.

He calls it right and professional, which gave Kosovo politics solutions.

The Constitutional Decision does not deny the first party to form the government, but the first party must find ruling allies. I haven't read that the decision has over 160 pages, but I've only read the 36 points of that decision, and my opinion is positive about that decision, because it has clarified, not just for now, but if this electoral system remains the decision is right, proportional. I am not a lawyer, but rather I know that the Constitutional is not the Court, but it is only by interpreting the Constitution and facilitating the political elections in Kosovo politics, and I think it has done so very well and professionally”, he says.

But will we see Jakup Krasniqi in any public office in the future?

I'm in politics, I don't run much for my position. It depends on the will of the political scene in Kosovo, however, that I would like to be in public service because everything I started for public service and not for my own interests. I wanted perhaps to have a position that is in public interest, but it does not depend on my own desire, but on the will of Kosovo citizens and politics”, he says. /B. Bless
