The German government has not made a comment [...]
The German government has not made a comment on these reports. There is also no reaction from official Moscow, which has earlier denied accusations of such cyberattacks.
According to “Der Spigel”, federal police and federal cybercrime agency have been able to recreate the attack and have found that the target of the hacker attack was two “inbox-e” of Merkel's electoral office. They have entered the 2012-2015 electronic correspondence and even copied e-mails into another computer.
The German Bundestag Low Room discovered in May 2015 that its computer system had been broken, and hackers had entered it since the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, it did not reveal what information was stolen.
The Russian Embassy in Berlin has made no reaction to the event in question until now.
