The lesson will not start in June, but only ninth classes and seniors will hold supplementary lessons, preparations for final tests. So has made known for Radio Kosovo, Deputy Education Minister Xhavit Rexhaj.
Deputy Education Minister Xhavit Rexhaj, in an interview for Radio Kosovo, has said the lesson cannot be started in June, as the disinfectation of schools costs more than 1m euros -- costs that, according to him, cannot be met.
He made it known that classes of nine and seniors will begin as preparation for final tests.
The teaching will begin in June for several student groups, nine classes and twelve. It'll be a supplementary lesson in preparation for standardized tests. In a thousand schools just to disinfect now for preparations for children to return, it is over a million euros, there is a cost we cannot afford. We do not consider it to be a proper path”, he said.
Whether the lesson will begin in September or not, Deputy Prime Minister Rexhaj said it will depend on the performance of the pandemic and the conditions our country has.
This depends on the state of pandemic. This is global pandemic, but every country has its own specific situation. We don't have the conditions Germany has for example. When we decide what we will do, we start from Kosovo's conditions, from the possibilities of Kosovo. The biggest problem is disinfectation. If it becomes disinfectant every day, it's millions of euros within two weeks”.
However, Rexhaj said they would also expect suggestions from the Health Ministry to decide how to proceed further.
