The world must live with the threat of Coronavirus to the foreseeable future because there is no guarantee of a successful vaccine, a WHO expert said.
David Nabarro, professor at Imperial College London and an IO messenger BSH for Coddy-19, said the globe would have to adapt to the ongoing problem.
This statement comes when the number of cases worldwide increased to 2.3 million, with 160,000 deaths.
Dr Nabarro told Observer: Not necessarily develop a safe and effective vaccine against any virus. Some viruses are very, very difficult when it comes to developing vaccines. So for a predictable future, we will have to find ways to continue our lives with this virus as a constant threat.
That means isolating those who show signs of illness and also their contacts. Older people will have to protect themselves. Moreover, hospital capacity for handling cases will have to be ensured. This is going to be a new abnormal for all of us at”, he said.
