European Union observers have identified a <x0-second emergency deinformation” between China, Iran and Russia regarding the pandemic and the coronary.

They say they are redoubled” in a coordinated way, according to an internal document seen by Radio Free Europe.

 

The document, which dates April 20th, says that common dezinformation themes are that the coronary is a biological weapon created in the United States to defeat opponents as well as information showing that China, Iran and Russia “are more successful than the West” in combating the epidemic.

The document also says Iranian leaders -- reinforced by Russian media -- continue to call for the removal of US sanctions against Iran, claiming they are undermining the country's humanitarian and medical response to COVID-19.

 

The document points out that this is part of a <x0-convergence <x1) wider Russian, Iranian and Chinese framework calling for the removal of sanctions against Russia, Iran, Syria and Venezuela.

 

All countries have faced increased US economic sanctions under the leadership of President Donald Trump.

The document notes that Russian official sources and state media continue to carry out a co-ordinated campaign aimed at undermining the EU, including its response to crises, as well as to sow confusion about the health effects of COVID-19.

 

The document also says most of the content identified by EEAS continues to be distributed to social media such as Twitter and Facebook.

 

The document claims that Google and other services offering online ads “continue to make money and stimulate dezinformation by placing paid ads on relevant web sites. ”

 

Representatives of these companies have not responded to Radio Free Europe's request to comment on these claims.
