The driver's death and cases of employee infection in Bondsteel, KFOR points to measures at the US base

One of the eight victims of the virus, covid 19 in Kosovo, is a 65-year-old from Ferizaj, who worked as a driver at Camp Bondsteel. Other workers in this camp have been addressed to Gazeta Express, saying that hundreds of workers are continuing their work even though they may have been infected by the bus driver who carried them to work.

In an answer to the Journal Express, KFOR explains that all those who may have had contact with the victim, as his family media say, have been regular at work until a week before the deteriorating situation.

Under the condition of anonymity, an employee at Bondsteel has told Express there are about 600 workers on the job, without even having a chance to be tested. KFOR says they have full control and have taken necessary measures.

“Camp Bondsteel controls all the people who enter. If they are contracting local Kosovo and showing signs or having stories that they have been exposed, they are not allowed in the camp. The same measures are in force at all bases of KFOR”.

KFOR soldiers in Kosovo are in the same measure, while they say that those who exhibit symptoms are initially placed only in Karatine and that they are not being tested immediately, in order not to spend them without seeing the symptoms continue.

In Kosovo, 377 cases have been recorded; 63 of them have recovered and eight have died.
