The following is the status of Mr. Zuckerberg:
As part of our efforts to help the news ecosystem and in order for everyone to have access to accurate and timely information, we are investing $100 million in new foundations to help journalists, especially those focused on local news.
For now, journalists are working under very difficult conditions to keep their communities informed, and many of the media organisations are struggling with the economic impact of pandemic. Local media in particular have been hit the hardest, so we're going to donate $25 million to the emergency grants fund through the Facebook Journalial Project, and another $75 million in advertising support to help journalists and news organizations cover the crisis safely.
This new emergency program is additional $300 million we've given in support of news, and local news in particular, in the past years. We hope this will help journalists during this period so that they will continue to do their critical work to keep us all informed.
