Kosovo lawyer Kelmendi's full letter

Dear deputies,

I, Kosovar Kelmendi, daughter of Nekibe Kelmendi, believe I have the moral right to address this letter in these difficult moments for Kosovo and its people.

You've decided to gather today to change the will of the people expressed by vote, on October 6, 2019. Are you aware of your great responsibility toward the people? If not, I am reminding you that more than you have responsibility for the living in this country, you owe to those whose blood was also built on the Parliament, where today you with a raise of hands can cut off any hopes of a better future.

You may have forgotten, but my family and I, halved, even if we wanted we could never forget the midnight of 24-25 March 1999. Over 100 bullets were emptied that night on the bodies of my father and brothers. In 21 years, as a family of martyrs, I've never asked for any good from any power. I lived and worked as a responsible citizen. It has kept me strong the ideal and pride that the blood of my family became the foundation of Kosovo's freedom and state. I've never even given you enough justice for them as the only unspoiled political murder. My family's enemy has always been well known.

But today, by the way power is being misused to realize personal ambitions and party and group interests, I no longer know who is my enemy and this people's.

My mother, Nekibe Kelmendi, despite her soul wounds, continued her contribution to Kosovo's citizenship in whose founding party it was. To the last breath, both the Democratic League and Kosovo remained loyal. Boldly, the native and intellectually faced not only the challenges but also the <x0-beders <x1) international and local. The last battle was held by former Ambassador Christopher Dell and then the LDK- The PDK, led by Hashim Thaci. The clash with Dell has had precisely for the formation of parallel Serbian courts in northern Mitrovica as a threat warned of partitioning Kosovo's north.

Her insistence on a powerful JO cost her discharge from the post of justice minister. Despite pressure, she refused to resign. Let me get fired because I don't give up. There are no deals at the expense of my people and Kosovo. I pay it, not in position, but with my own head for the good of my country”, he told me. Her attitude had upset former Ambassador Dell. Nekibe Kelmendi did not quit. He was fired. She was not impressed by the dismissal. But he was concerned about the danger facing Kosovo. Nekib was fired, sick and dead, but the LDK- The PDK was not destroyed. And then there was no dangerous health pandemic.

Today, when I see how the LDK is protecting its fired Minister Agim Veliu, (against which I have nothing personal), I am asking, much more valuable is the dignity of Agim Veliu than the cause my mother defended. She didn't have such party support.

I know that LDK is no longer the one of Ibrahim Rugova's time, Fehmi Agani, Nekibe Kelmendi, Xhemajl Mustaf of many other intellectuals, but I want to believe that their political legacy in LDK has not completely died.

Before you raise your hand to vote for the government's collapse, at a time when we are threatened by an invisible enemy, stop and think about the weight of the decision you will make. Watch how you will be remembered in history. Do not avenge the living or those who for life pay their freedom to this land. My family's blood was not forgiven!
