During a press conference, authorities described how Subhas Batham invited the children to his home in the village of Kasaria in Farrukhabad, with the claim that he would ganize a holiday for his 1-year-old daughter, but then closed the children inside the house.
The children who were kidnapped were about 10 years old, writes CNN.
Police General Director said he was executed by police during the child rescue operation, which included the anti-terror team.
The kidnapper demanded a large sum of money for each child, 10 million Indian rupees, or $140,000, and all charges brought against him were dropped.
Police negotiated eight hours for child rescue, but later realized that the kidnapper had weapons and explosives. The only way to save the children was to execute him, police said at the end of the statement.
