Despite snowfalls, water level at Batlava Lake, Badovci is low

The water level at Batislava Lake and Badovci continues to be low, despite the snowfall it suffered during the first week of February. The spokeswoman of the KRU Regional Water Company “Prishtina”, Arjeta Doctor, in a statement issued on Telegrafi, has said that snowfall has fallen [...]

The spokeswoman of the KRU Regional Water Company “Pristina”, Arjeta Doctor, in a statement on the telegram, said that falling snowfalls were not enough to fill lakes.

The few snowfalls that have fallen on our country are pleasant to the dry environment because there are severe droughts but not enough yet to start filling lakes. Intensity has not been at that level yet to fill lakes. But the impact of rainfall is best seen in the coming of water to the lake by torrents that fill the lakes”, the doctor said.

KRU spokeswoman “Pristina” said she hopes that the following days there will be higher intensity rainfall.

“We hope that as in the early years, March and April will be rainy. So the impact of recent rainfall has been on dry soil, on clean environment, but still not enough to fill the lakes with water”, she stressed.

Otherwise, Batlava Lake and Badovci's are the main sources of drinking water supply for Pristina citizens with districts and several other municipalities.

CRU “Pristina” has repeatedly called on citizens to spend rationally on water, because in the absence of rainfall, water shortages will be huge.
