President Trump congratulates President Thaci for 12th anniversary of independence

The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, has accepted today a telegram of congratulations by United States President Donald Trump on the 12th anniversary of Kosovo's independence.

The American people reportedly join the president's congratulations for the people of Kosovo on the 12th anniversary of independence.

“We congratulate Kosovo for the democratic elections held in October, and we appreciate the continuation of efforts to boost peace, rule of law and welfare for the people of Kosovo and the Western Balkan region”, says the Trump telegram directed to President Thaci.

President Trump has wished President Thaci success even in terms of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

We wish you success in the coming years, until you are focused on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, strengthening rule of law and creating preconditions for strengthening the private sector”, he wrote.

Trump further writes that Kosovo's “future will be bright”.
