Thaci's lawyer requires provisional release: Shkelzen Gashi was not intimidated by Thaci, dismissed by Kurti

President Hashim Thaci's defence side has demanded from the former president's early release. David Hooper, Thaci's lawyer, has made this request by means of a 28-page parachute. The pre-prosecutor has already been sent to the judge of the procedure, and in it are listed arguments on why Thaci should be released according to the lawyer.
Also listed are counterarguments against specialised Prosecution claims presented in other statements, as well as in the edited version of the warrant.
About four days ago, at the address of Pre-Procedure Judge Nicolas Guilloou, there have reached 28 pages of arguments by former President Thaci's defence lawyer, David Hooper, through which his client's provisional release is required.
Hooper, in his address, has responded to all claims by the Special Prosecutor, raised on Thaci's arrest warrant, as well as on other parachutes sent to the court. The president's lawyer, in this case, has responded to claims of instigating people who think differently about the KLA war, as the case of Shozen Gashi, former adviser to Albin Kurti at the time that he was prime minister, was mentioned.
Hooper, in his response, has said that Prosecutor's material number 36 does not include Thaci in the Skelzen Gashi case and the situation caused after his statement.
Hooper has even said Gashi's statements have provoked radical elements within Vetevendosje, which forced VV leader Albin Kurti to dismiss him.
The SPS's “Propossions consistently fail to reflect the reality of political dynamics in Kosovo. Except for ignoring Mr. Thaci for the KSC, the SPO takes Gashi's incident as an example that “reflects a climate of insensibility and intimidation. In fact, Gashi's statements provoked radical elements within the Vetevendosje party, which forced the leader of that party to fire Gashi, his adviser. Must be stressed that the party had taken a strong stand against The KSC, and for this issue EULEX and UNMIK, in stark contrast to that of Mr. Thaci. In no way can this incident be characterised as a Mr. Thaci to fear or act with impunity against the KSC. Rather, it demonstrates the nature of the opposition within Kosovo for its support of KSC”He said in his quarters Thaci's lawyer, David Hooper.

Moreover, Hooper has introduced as a reference the transcripts of the Kosovo Assembly session held on August 3rd 2015, and in describing the same, has highlighted the fact that Thaci's support for the Special Court has been characterised as “servilism to internationals” by Albin Kurti.
“During this session, Mr. Thaci for the creation of the KSC and SPO was characterised as “servilism to the international community”, from then opposition leader Albin Kurti, the leader of the Vetevendosje Movement”, has said again Hooper in his parliament.
Hooper in his arguments has responded further to the claims of the Specialised Prosecutor, which connects with possible witnesses, political appointments and other issues.
Among other things, Hooper mentions that no charges filed in the Swiss senator's report Dick Marty has been filed in the indictment against the former president and others.
In such a situation, Hooper has said that all Thaci's efforts have gone into the direction of having those charges dermated against the KLA, which he said happened.
