The threatening and very serious statements have come today from Serbia's president, Alexander Vuciq. The latter is warning that failure to resolve the issue with Kosovo could culminate in a new conflict. All these statements are coming at a time when KLA leaders Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi are in The Hague facing justice.
Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, chose a rather complicated and serious moment for Kosovo, to warn the latter that there might be work with Serbia again if there is no solution through dialogue. This move, the first of the Serbian presidency -- once minister of the “casap” of the Balkans, Slobodan Milosevic -- did so at the time when KLA leaders are facing justice in The Hague.
It's important to tell you that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict shows that frozen conflicts can escalate at any moment. The situation with Kosovo will not be easy in the coming months. We should not leave the frozen conflict to our children”, he said.
Following these parallels that Vuciq drew with the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Vuciq said it is for a peaceful solution through diplomatic routes. “The most important message for us is the message of peace and dialogue. We have to take care of the future of our children”, Vuchy said.
Threats for war by Vuciq come in the period when leaders of the recent war in Kosovo, Kadri Veselin, Hashim Thaci, and others are at The Hague, face-to-face with justice. The above - mentioned, especially Thaci and Wessel, during the time of official positions in Kosovo, had not rarely had harsh answers to Vuciqi. Wessel had recently even launched an initiative to create a Tribunal for condemning Serbian crimes. He had warned that Serbia's <x0-lynns” would not escape justice for the genocide committed in Kosovo.
Regarding these statements coming from the Serbian presidency, there have also been reactions in Kosovo, but it is expected to be seen whether the same will be brought to the ears of internationals, from whom it has been asked to respond.
