Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy leader Shacir Totaj said the issue of electing the president will have interesting developments.
He stressed that several candidates will be in this race.
I have said that the PDK will vote on a government when it has the prime minister's post.
If we return to the current situation is more challenging, those challenges are also opportunities for the political class to show maturity and challenges to turn into solutions. As for electing the president is a topic waiting for us but until then we have five months and I hope that within five months this political class will find a solution.
So far we have an candidacy, Mr. Ramush Haradinaj. He has submitted his candidacy, but that candidacy is not official, as to be such should come from the government coalition and not from the leader of a party. We'll have interesting developments. We could have a lot of choice. We could have more than one candidate.
So far the government coalition has not submitted a candidate, nor has the PDK submitted a candidate. The closer we get to the date, the race will become more interesting and new contenders” will emerge, he told Euronews Albania.
Totaj is confident that the president will be resolved with consensus by political leaders.
Mr. Mustafa said this through the media, but it would be good for this issue to be discussed through party leaders and there would be an attempt to find a solution.
We hope that there will be discussions about this matter. If we're gonna find a solution, there's gotta be a table between leaders.
We don't have the luxury of holding elections every year. I don't think all the tools are exhausted yet, and I think the solution can be found without going to the elections. The elections are the last choice”, he concluded.
