Wessel, during a visit to the city of Kamenica, has called on the mayor of the municipality, Stand Kastrati to react quickly and stop closing schools in Kosovo-Serbia border generation settlements.
Leader of The PDK said the state of Kosovo should help create incentives for residents to continue living in their property in the border belt, not to make living through school closures difficult.
Wessel has visited the new facility of the school “hasan Pristina”, in Busavat in Kamenica, from where he has invited the mayor of this municipality, Stand Kastract, to reflect on the opening of this school and to enable students to start teaching.
“I from this school which has a symbolic name “Hasan Pristina”, which has merged its wealth to send Kosovo's sons and daughters to the first Albanian schools of the time in the normal Elbasan, had also invited the mayor of the Kamenica municipality not to receive it as a message of political war, not anger with the director, not with the teachers, not with the Busat and other villages, but to reflect, in order to give this opportunity, where we will have the classroom before the classroom of the children, here. Let students come to Busavata, last of all, the law is only for people. For the good of the citizens.
I need the students back here as soon as possible. Find a reasonable language of communication with parents, with children, with educational staff. The sooner they get back to normality, it's good for the mayor, it's good for the Ministry of Education, and it's necessary, because this school just has been built, it still feels like the smell of the dill.”, Vessel said.
Wessel has said that every day there are provocations on the part of the Serbian gendarmerie coming into the border belt, and this should serve as a message for children not to be discouraged but allowed to continue.
“Tonight I'm for a message, here in Busawat, in Kamenica, in this border area where every day we have provocations from Serbia. The countries where the border points are, to strongly encourage parents, and children to live in those parts because they are strategic interests of the Republic of Kosovo to stay those children, those families, just like they are here in Busawat, in Kamenica and all the areas that are bordering. ”, he said.
While school principal “hasan Pristina”, Abednego Maliqi, has called for normalisation of the situation at Busavata School and all schools in Kamenica.
Maliqi tearfully said that even though the Ministry of Education has given her the keys to the new school, the mayor of the Kamenica municipality has reacted with opposition.
He said that when the school began to be built, it was his greatest joy.
Our request is very simple. Just normalizing the situation in schools. As you can see, we now have the new school, and this is amazing, and I don't believe there's a decision anywhere in the world where the Ministry of Education invests, to build the school facility, which on August 15th handed the keys to me, in spite of the fact that Kastragi has been responsible for why I am responsible, I don't know who could have me responsible. In my life, even when my child was born, I had no greater joy than on the day the foundation of this school began.
