Pristina Health Director: Shutting down and limiting movement were unsuccessful in fighting COVID

Health Director in the Pristina municipality Bujar Gashi has said that increasing the number of cases in Pristina and Kosovo also relates to increasing the number of tests.

Now I have 1,145 active cases with COVID-19 in Pristina. We have had the smallest number of active cases on October 9, where only 203 cases remained. While the maximum number of active cases has gone to 1,500, which we hope not to reach again”, he added.

Gashi has said that wearing masks, distances and personal hygiene remains the key elements to prevent further spread of the pandemic.

Even increasing inspections will affect improving the situation”.

The director of Health in the Pristina municipality does not view the restoration of quarantine as an option or limiting movement at certain times.

We've tried many options. We saw they didn't succeed. When citizens moved at certain times, they moved into larger piles. The essence is that citizens do not remain in groups or populated countries.
