Police official arrested, manipulated fighting evidence in Pristina

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate through a communique for the media has announced that the police official has been dismissed from work.

The currently arrested police officer allegedly gave instructions to the parties involved in the case of bodily injury as to what to declare about the case, as well as to erase video footage from cameras that have been able to film the moment of the incident among citizens”, the communiqué says.

Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK)>, respectively, investigators of the Department of Investigation have arrested a suspect (police official) today on suspicion that the same one has committed criminal work “manipulation with evidence”.

IPK investigators had accepted the first information regarding the case about a month earlier by Kosovo Police .C. Regional Directorate Pristina.

After receiving information from the IPK, a series of investigative actions have been undertaken with the suspicion that criminal work has been committed” concerning a case of “body sacrifice” that had occurred in Pristina and was reported to the Kosovo Police earlier months.

The arrested police official has allegedly given instructions to the parties involved in the case of bodily injury on what to say about the case, as well as to erase video footage from cameras that have been able to film the moment of the incident between citizens.

Regarding the IPK's investigative actions, competent prosecutor and suspects in this case have been assigned the detention measure for 48 hours.

Regarding the same case, as part of administrative and investigative procedures, the police official has been suspended.
