I spoke to the White House cabinet chief this morning Mark Meadows and the good news is that the president feels very good and wants to return to the White House, but I think he'll stay at Walter Reed for a while too, said Robert O'Brien on the show Face the Nation) of CBS.
Trump is being treated at Walter Reed Military Hospital not far from Washington. O'Brien, who himself was infected with coronarys during the summer, said that the seventh and eighth day of the disease are critical and that doctors want to be close to the president.
He added that Trump would have a national security announcement at a distance later in the day.
Asked whether a possible replacement of Trump is being discussed if he is unable to carry out his duties, he denied it.
White House cabinet chief Mark Meadows said earlier that the president's health condition on Friday was evidently worse than first announced, adding that doctors recommended that he be transferred to the hospital because of fever and the decline of oxygen levels in blood, and that he is now fine.
Trump was transferred by helicopter from the White House to Walter Reed, not far from Washington on Friday, about 17.00 after he announced he was ill.
