Such interference in the independence of the judiciary is being covered today, in the case of declaring the bias in the case known as Proto. This approach of politicians, The IKD deems it unacceptable and policy interference in the judiciary.
The IKD recalls that even in the most dictatorial regimes, courts have tried to develop judicial processes and that the accused condemn them on the basis of evidence and facts, providing regular procedures.
Today's practice of politicians' reactions is unacceptable, where it is disposing politicians' demands that penalties be pronounced through public pressure.
The IKD estimates that this discurs of politicians represent interference in the independence of the judiciary and is extremely dangerous, is a violation of human rights and freedoms, and of all persons or officials who have brought the state into this situation.
The IKD estimates it is unacceptable and unintelligible how these politicians are unable to understand the course of the Proto case, and what is proved to be the final goal.
The IKD without prejudged the epilogue of this trial has repeatedly criticised the State Prosecutor's approach, which has been selective in this case in the investigation and prosecution of protagonists of the Pronto wiretaps. The State Attorney has proved to have lacked the courage to handle this case, in which there has been interference of Chief State Prosecutor Alexander Lumezi, and which case has ended with the establishment of an indictment in which the prosecutor has no proposed any witnesses presenting the application of his own kind.
Politicians must realise they are politicians and are not NGOs, so their comments to judicial decisions should be stopped forever.
International reports have consistently criticised interventions in justice by commenting on judicial decisions on the part of the legislature and executive. It's a pity this tradition is continuing on in the 7th legislature. Such a dim approach to public confidence and international factor in terms of the right intention to clear the justice system of politics and interest groups and promote promoted reforms during the October 6th 2019 electoral campaign.
