Police authorities investigating this case have said he has committed suicide, but with this disagrees his family, who doubts the delay in production, Klan Kosova reports.
Liridon Saliuca, who was born in Kosovo, lived in Britain for 20 years with his family and had a British passport.
He was found dead in the maximum security prison on the early evening of January 2nd.
Prison service confirmed he was dead. Prisoner and Prison Attorney are investigating the case.
Saliuka had been in custody since last summer, when he was arrested and charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting at a London club.
He had denied involvement.
Saliuka's sister, The Day, told the newspaper “The Guardian” that the family had been told that the body autopsy was not yet carried out and that she could be seen afterwards.
Saliuka had undergone serious surgery after having had a car accident two years earlier. After this accident, he had kept metal plates on his body, making it difficult for him to walk and stay for long periods of time.
The day has said that her brother was originally placed in a separate cell with an orthopedic mattress, but had recently been transferred to a standard cell.
“They did not allow him to make a phone call from Box Day until New Year's Day, when I saw him”, the day said.
My brother said people who committed suicide were weak and selfish. I heard from others that there was a dispute that day. He was being harassed”.
I repeatedly called the prison [to raise concerns about its inability] but no one answered. He moved to New Year's night and said he slept on the floor because mattresses were inappropriate”.
He was in custody. Now my brother will never be able to clear his name on trial”.
