According to The Washington Post, Telegrafi is quoted, he has said he knew nothing about a letter that appears to suggest a troop preparation to be displaced from Iraq.
But he said there were some American forces repositions.
“There is no decision to leave Iraq”, he said, adding that “has no decision to leave, nor have we issued any plans to leave or prepare to leave”.
According to him, US remains committed to campaign to defeat I SIS in Iraq and the region.
A letter sent Monday by the Iraqi government by a commander in Iraq said troops would be given “during the coming days and weeks to prepare for movement before”.
The letter also said there would be an increase in helicopter travel around the Green Zone and said: “We respect your sovereignty's decision to order our departure”.
Otherwise, the Iraqi Parliament has issued a resolution requiring the removal of American troops to Iraq.
