Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has said America expects his country to recognise Kosovo's independence.
In an interview for Pink Television, he has stressed that until now US Ambassador to Belgrade Kyle Scott has fought for a better relationship with Serbia, and thanked him for his mandate, the Klan Kosova broadcasts.
Progress is made in that way that we're talking openly to America today and nobody's imposing us. They may not have changed their position on Kosovo, but we are speaking out. Although America expects us to recognise Kosovo's independence, our position on the issue is being heard today”, he added.
The head of the Serbian state said, among other things, that Serbia is awaiting a difficult autumn in terms of the Kosovo issue.
Speaking of the 6 October elections held in Kosovo, Vuciq says that “Albanians have three lists to expel Serbs so that Belgrade is not asked about anything”, the Kosovo Clan broadcasts.
He said that next week, during the session at the UN General Assembly, there will be a large number of meetings with world officials and that these talks will be difficult because Kosovo will be a dominant topic.
I'll have countless meetings in New York. With EU people, many bilateral meetings, again with Chancellor Merkel, which is a pleasure to me”, Vuciq stressed.
