“I will order the Ministry of Finance to tighten sanctions significantly against the Iranian state,” Trump said on Twitter, without specifying other details.
Additional sanctions follow earlier that Washington has decided on Tehran since the US withdrew from an international agreement on Iran's nuclear programme in May 2018.
American authorities have not ruled out the possibility of a military response following the attack on Saudi objects.
